Conference Details


International Conference on Symmetries, Differential Equations and Applications, (SDEA-II) will be held in the beautiful green city of Islamabad, Pakistan, at the base of Margalla Hills and close to the historical site of the first University in the world at Taxila. It is the second conference in the series, the first SDEA-I having been held in DECMA, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa at the bicentenary of Evariste Galois in 2012. We dedicate SDEA - II to the 150 years of the presentation of James Clerk Maxwell on his Theory of Electromagnetism to the Royal Society in 1864 .The conference is aimed to provide a unique platform for young researchers, faculty and especially students to interact/collaborate with distinguished researchers from all over the world working in the area of symmetries and conservation laws to study underlying geometrical structures and integrable properties of differential equations.

On the third day of SDEA-II (January 29, 2014) we will commemorate the birthday of Prof. Abdus Salam (Pakistani Nobel Laureate) who worked tirelessly for the development of science in Third-World countries, even until his death. He believed that "Scientific thought and its creation is the common and shared heritage of mankind".
